Their expertise ranges from semi mass production of standard glass items up to individual design and manufacture of specialised equipment. Due to GlassChems involvement with the wine industry, they have developed arange of stillsfor use inwine laboratories. These comprise sulphur dioxide stills using the aspiration method, volatile acid stills using the Markham methodand alcoholstills, all available in variousconfigurations.

  • GlassChem’s SO2 stills were designed to provide a sulfur analysis in wine and grape juices by the aspiration method. The design criteria was to follow the traditional Rankine method with an instrument that was user-friendly and eliminated the common errors found in conventional stills.

  • GlassChems VA stills are designed to determine the amount of volatile acid present in wine measured as grams per liter. Steam distillation is used to separate the volatile acids from the non volatile components in the wine.
